Nine-year-old Amanda Jaclyn Rose Anak Sulong is a young Iban girl whose childhood has been very different from that of most children her age.

While other children were playing freely and enjoying a carefree childhood, Amanda’s early years were already filled with hospital visits, surgeries, and the daily use of a stoma bag.

Amanda was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s disease at a young age. To survive, she had to rely on a stoma bag for a long period of time. It was never a choice—it was the only way her body could continue functioning.

After a long journey of waiting and treatment, Amanda finally underwent a successful stoma reversal surgery.

It was a result worth celebrating, but it was not the end of her journey.

Because she had depended on the stoma for bowel movements for so long, Amanda is still struggling to adjust to passing stools normally. She continues to wear diapers every day and requires ongoing care.

Her condition has also affected her ability to absorb nutrients and grow properly. She weighs nearly 20 kilograms less than other children her age.

Doctors have advised that she receive long-term nutritional milk support so that her body can slowly regain strength and catch up with her development.

【One Father, Three Daughters, and a Life Pushed to Its Limits】

Amanda’s father, Sulong Anak Lanyau, moved from Sarawak to Kuala Lumpur many years ago, hoping to build a more stable future for his family.

He worked hard and lived carefully, but Amanda’s frequent hospital appointments, check-ups, and admissions meant that he often had to take leave from work.

Eventually, his company asked him to resign.

Around the same time, his wife also left the family.

From that moment onward, he was no longer only a father. He became the sole caregiver and provider for his three daughters.

He continues searching for work while caring for his children, constantly travelling between hospitals and home, trying his best to keep the family together.

He cannot afford to fall apart, because his daughters have no one else to depend on.

Amanda still needs:

• Long-term nutritional milk support
• Diapers and essential medical supplies
• Follow-up appointments and rehabilitation expenses
• Daily living and caregiving support

For an unemployed father raising three daughters alone, these expenses have become far more than he can manage.

We may not be able to walk this entire journey for him, but we can walk beside him through this difficult chapter.

We are currently raising RM4,320 to provide Amanda with one year’s supply of nutritional milk and diapers.

Perhaps one donation may not change her entire destiny, but it can help a nine-year-old girl experience less discomfort and gain more strength to grow.

Please extend a helping hand to Amanda and her family as they try to get through this incredibly difficult period.

❤️ Every act of kindness gives them another reason to keep moving forward.
